Two hits separated Fallston’s Jessica Moore from a perfect game, Tuesday, when the Cougars downed refused the South River Seahawks a single run in a 5-0 softball win.

Striking out nine of the batters she faces, Moore allowed just two hits in an otherwise perfect outing, and was backed by the bats of Zorbach and Deckelman to post a two-run lead after two innings, and bash another three runs in the fifth for the 5-0 final.

Zorbach, aside from what Fallston coach John Connelly described as two “excellent” defensive plays at shortstop, did work at the plate in her two-for-four performance, driving in a run while also scoring herself, while Deckelman finished two-for-three from the dish and scored a run.

Moore’s pitching performance was balanced with her skills swinging the lumber, ending Tuesday’s game going two-for-four and driving in two runs.

Fallston’s next game comes against the Patterson Mill Huskies, Monday, as South River prepares for Mount Hebron on Saturday in the Anne Arundel/Howard Challenge.
