Perez’s 12 points push Cougars into showdown with Harford Tech

Fallston High girls basketball team started its postseason push, Monday, with a 47-34 home win over Elkton in the Class 2A East Region I semifinals.

The Cougars (13-8 overall) advance to face Harford Tech, on Wednesday, in the bracket final as the two Harford County squads fight for a spot in the 2A Elite Eight. Harford Tech (15-6), the top seed in the bracket, advanced with a 51-43 win over North Harford.

Junior forward Kelly Ann Perez led the Cougars in scoring with 12 points and she added seven rebounds. Sophomore guard Jillian Crawford chipped in 11 points, while junior center Adrianna “Dre” Mace had seven points and a pair of rebounds.

On the defensive end, senior forward Lauren Gabranski had seven points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore center Amanda Sharpe had 3 blocks.

Wednesday’s regional final will take place at Harford Tech. Elkton finished its season a 5-16 and North Harford finished up at 9-12.
