No. 15 Severna Park welcomed in No.20 Archbishop Spalding, on Saturday night, for the championship game of the Don Gregg boys socer tournament and the hard fought match ended in a 1-1 double overtime draw.

 

In the 27th minute, senior Matt Bishop headed home a David Boretti corner kick for a 1-0 Spalding lead.  Severna Park tied it up in the second half on a free kick from the top of the 18 by Jared Fenton.

Both teams battled through two 10-minute extra periods but neither team could find a winning goal.

Spalding are now 4-0-2 and will open up its MIAA A Conference schedule with John Carroll at home on Tuesday (4:00 pm).  Next up for Severna Park is home game on Wednesday night (7:00 p.m.) against South River.
