Testing out the turf at M&T Bank Stadium, where he is expected to lead Loyola Blakefield against arch-rval Calvert Hall on Thanksgiving morning, Loyola quarterback Mike Fafaul competed in the Toyota Challenge on Sunday, at halftime of the Baltimore Ravens/Cleveland Browns NFL game.

Still recovering from the hit he took a week ago at Spalding, Fafaul was held out of Loyola’s 34-31 loss to Valley Forge Military Academy, on Saturday.  In the challenge, he hit teammate Jimmy Holder with a 52 yard toss to defeat Arundel’s Nick Rosati.

“I felt great throwing today,” said the Loyola senior. ” I didn;t have any pain at all.”

Fafaul’s status for Loyola’s next game, Friday at Caesar Rodney (DE), remains uncertain, but he is expected to be ready to go when the Dons host McDonogh in their MIAA A Conference opener in two weeks.
