Franklin High and Eastern Tech, two of Baltimore County’s best, took to the field Saturday morning at the Baltimore County Jamboree at Dundalk.
After losses in the state Class 2A title game in 2007 and 2008, Eastern Tech captured the elusive crown last season, holding off Queen Anne’s. The Mavericks (13-1 in 2009) figure again to be in the title hunt led by senior running back/linebacker Marquise Bannister and two-way linemen Dan McManus, one of the area’s best interior performers.
Under coach Anthony Burgos, Franklin has reached the state postseason the past four seasons. The Indians (9-3 last season) lost to Hereford in the Class 3A North Region.
