Scoring all their runs in the first four innings, the Northeast Eagles held strong on the final moments of Monday’s showdown with Southern, fending off their opponents in the 9-8 softball win.
Britney Magee and Brooke Steinbach teamed up to pitch seven innings for North East, combining for four strikeouts to compliment the numerous offensive performances.
Semina Matulonis rocketed a double and triple in her two-RBI performance, while other RBIs went to Crystal Heffington, Taylor Dittmar, Brittany Beckett, Steinbach and Magee.
Steinbach brought in three RBIs with a single, as Sabrina Gordon ripped a triple and scored twice and Keirstin Henderson notched two singles while scoring a run.
Gibson got the nod for Southern and threw for the entire seven-inning game, seeing a homer by O’Neill and singles from Woods, O’Neill an Minimier.
Schronce finished the day with two singles and three RBIs, next to Miller and her three-single night.
