Danielle Edwards had a game-high 19 points and Brianna Jacobs added 13 as No. 3 McDonogh School defeated Western, 65-47, in a non-league girls’ basketball contest on Falls Road Friday afternoon.

The Eagles (19-6 overall) led 33-16 at halftime as they finished the regular season with five straight victories. Maiya Gibson led all scorers with 21 points for Western.

McDonogh, the defending IAAM A Conference champion, will likely be the No. 2 seed for the playoffs. The Eagles will play either John Carroll School or Mercy in Tuesday’s opening round.
