The Aberdeen Eagles found the back of the goal 14 times in Wednesday’s girls’ lacrosse showdown with Joppatowne, doubling their first half scoring for the 14-8 win over the Mariners.
Kayla Gardner rocketed five goals in the game for Aberdeen, assisting in another, while Megan Lutrey and Djene Diane both had two-goal nights with one assist each.
Morgan Tildon added two goals to the Aberdeen scoreboard, alongside single-goal scorers Emily Whittie, making three assists, and Sarah Morris, making two assists.
The Mariners trailed the Eagles by just two at the half, 7-5, but were only able to add three more with the help of Christina Miller and Julia Sands, scoring three and two goals, respectfully.
Three other Mariners scored in the game, including Caroline Clane, Cynthia Ezdine and Candice Adade, while Ratashi Scott posted eight saves in the goal.
The Eagles will take on Elkton, Friday, before making up games with Northeast and Edgewood on April 4 and April 11.
