Owls remain undefeated with a 67-63 road victory

The Dundalk boys’ basketball team improved to 4-0, on Wednesday, with hard-fought 67-63 Baltimore County victory at Kenwood.

A balanced scoring attack carried the Owls as four players reached double figures and two others finished with nine points.

It was a back-and-forth first contest in which the teams combined to shoot 59 free throws. Fittingly, it was pair of free throws in the final seconds that allowed Dundalk to stave off a late rally by the Bluebirds.

Kenwood (3-2) led by one at the break, but Dundalk outscored the Bluebirds 20-8 to take a 53-42 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Kenwood cut the Owls’ lead to two with under a minute left in the game, but, the Dundalk was able to convert a couple of opportunities from the charity stripe and rebound a missed 3-point attempt to hold on for the road victory. The Bluebirds dropped to 3-2 on the season.

Jaylon Johnson led Dundalk with 16 points, while Tayquan Busby, Gates Cook and Rayonté Brown each scored 11. In addition, Michael Johnson and Will Fedd rounded out the scoring with nine points each.

Kenwood’s Pharoah Walker led all scorers with 24 points. Donnell Loud added 12 points and Darius Foster netted 11 points.
