Frederick Douglass’ football team won its third consecutive game of the year with a 26-18 win over Northwestern on Friday.

The Ducks (3-1 overall) were powerd by Matthew Goode and Carlos Croslin, both of whom scored two touchdowns.

Goode helped Douglass jump out to a 14-0 lead after catching a 21-yard touchdown pass from Croslin then returning an interception 75 yards for a score.

The Wildcats (1-3) closed to 14-12 on back-to-back scores by junior William Gaitlin but could never take the lead after failing to convert two, two-point converstions. Tray Thompson also scored a touchdown for Northwestern.

Croslin, who rushed for rushed for 146 yards on 12 carries, scored touchdowns on runs of 85- and 1-yard out to give the Ducks a lead it wouldn’t lose.

Coming into the game, Douglass recorded back-to-back shutouts of Reginald Lewis (38-0) and IBE (42-0).  On defense, Ryan Bell finished with 10 tackles and a sack while Brandon Sampson added eight tackles and an interception.

Douglass will host WEB DuBois on Friday at 6 p.m.
