Friars capture 18th; Hereford moves to No. 8
For the second time this season, Archbishop Curley has garnered a spot in the latest VSN’s Boys’ Lacrosse Top 20. The Friars are No. 18 after handing 17th-ranked Friends School its first loss in MIAA B Conference competition.
After an impressive showing en route to the Baltimore County crown, Hereford moves up a spot to No. 8. No. 10 Severna Park will look for a three-peat in Anne Arundel County, taking on No. 20 Broadneck at Old Mill Monday evening.
The MIAA A Conference playoffs starts Friday as No. 1 McDonogh School has secured the top seed and a bye. No. 2 Calvert Hall College and third-ranked Loyola Blakefield renew their rivalry in the regular season finale Tuesday with the winner securing a spot in the semifinals next week at Unitas Stadium.
Boys’ Latin School and Severn School completes the Top 5. The Lakers have a MIAA A quarterfinal berth locked up while Severn School will have to wait for Tuesday’s league results to see if its in.
