A 20-point hole was too much for St. Paul’s School to climb out of as the No. 17 Crusaders fell to King’s Fork (VA) in the consolation game at the Ronald Curry Classic at Hampton University Friday. Fred Scott led King’s Fork with 22 points.

The Suffolk, Virginia school extended a 14-9 first quarter deficit to 33-17 at halftime. The Crusaders (9-3 overall) trailed 44-24 after three quarters before putting up 22 points over the final eight minutes.

Cliff Cornish had an impressive performance for the defending MIAA B Conference champions with 26 points and 14 rebounds. The Brooklandville school resumes MIAA B play Monday evening at Gilman School.
