Breakdown of Foresters’ schedule

With practice for the 2018 high school football season a few weeks away, Varsity Sports Network’s Derek Toney takes a look at the regular season itinerary for select area teams.

Forest Park Foresters

2017 record: 8-2 (Class 2A North Region semifinalist)

2017 review: The Foresters reached postseason play, losing to Hereford in the 2A North semifinals. Forest Park was runner-up to Reginald Lewis in the Baltimore City League’s Division II.

2018 opponents’ win/loss record (from 2017): 39-48 (.448)

Toughest 2018 opponent: Reginald Lewis. The Falcons have won the last two Division II crowns, and are 22-2 over the past two seasons. Lewis handed Forest Park its only regular season loss (34-0) last fall.

Most intriguing 2018 opponent: Carver Vo-Tech. The Bears were the other only team to give Forest Park a challenge last season. The Bentalou Street school is hoping to build on last season’s 6-win campaign after winning one game in 2016.

By a number: 275. Total point differential in Forest Park’s eight victories in 2017.
