Breakdown of Warriors’ 2017 schedule

2016 record: 10-4 (Class 1A state finalist/UCBAC Chesapeake tri-champion)

2016 review: The Warriors lost to western Maryland power Fort Hill for the second straight year in the 1A state final. The Harford County school returns 16 letter-winners including all-league performers Jordan Day (wide receiver/defensive back), linemen Reggie Marks, linebacker Sean Greeley and kicker Clay Harris.

2017 opponents’ win/loss record (from 2016): 57-49 (.538)

Toughest 2017 opponent: Bel Air. The Bobcats have won or shared the past three UCBAC Chesapeake titles and reached the 4A state playoffs. The Harford County school is scheduled to return 25 letterwinners including all-Harford picks Devin Anderson (defensive back) and linemen Cameron DeJohn.

Most intriguing 2017 opponent: Elkton. The Elks won the UCBAC Susquehanna title and reached the 2A state final. The Cecil County school will have one of the region’s top running backs in Raiquon Estep.

By a number: 13. Years between the last Harford County team (Joppatowne, 2004 and 2003) to reach back-to-back state final and Havre de Grace.
