Fallston traveled to Maryland’s eastern shore, Friday night, for a 2A East regional football playoff and unleashed a dominating running game on host Kent Island, as the Cougars rolled to a 33-12 victory.

The win sets up a return trip across the Bay Bridge as Fallston will meet Queen Anne’s next Friday in the regional championship game.

Kent Island moved in front with an early field goal, but Zimmie Nwaigwe energized the Cougars with a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and the Cougars never looked back.  Nwaige also returned a kickoff for a touchdown last week against Havre de Grace.

Nwaigwe added a 20-yard touchdown run later in the first half and the Cougars also scored on a 65-yard run by Marc Badger to build a 20-9 halftime lead.  Badger finished with two touchdowns and topped the 100-yard rushing mark, as Fallston churned out 300 yards on the ground.

Fallston (9-2) also scored on a 28-yard pass from Grant Kelly to Ryan Umpleby, in the third quarter.
