Senior Gabrielle Yuille led Mount Carmel with 16 points, while sophomore point guard Corey Groom added 11 points, five steals, and two assists, as the Cougars topped Archbishop Curley, 58-52, in MIAA B Conference basketball on Monday.
Junior Thomas Thorton added 12 points and two assists and fellow classmate Lucas Gallina added seven points, three assists and one steal. Gallina’s biggest contribution was in the fourth quarter when he grabbed six rebounds and went 5-for-6 from the free throw line to hold off the Friars. Mount Carmel led by six at the half.
The Friars were led by Dexter Miles with 18 points.
