The Fallston Cougars outlasted the Elkton Golden Elks in a recent UCBAC baseball showdown, holding the Elks to a one-run seventh for the 6-5 win.

Fallston scored runs in the first three innings to trail the Elks, 4-3, heading into the top of the fourth, but had a big three-run inning to retake the lead, 6-4.

Kyle McCafferty was one-for-two with a double, a walk and two runs scored, while striking-out three and holding Elkton to one run over two innings to earn the save.

Grant Helly scored in his two-for-three performance, while Justin Sommer, Brandon Del Pilar, Josh Walker and Steve Lozoskie each had an RBI.

Justin Sommer pitched five innings to earn his victory, letting up four earned runs in the first two innings, but pitched three scoreless innings after to earn his third victory of the season.

Matt Armour pitched seven innings for the Elks, allowing five hits and four earned runs, and had a great day at the plate in his two-for three performance, earning three RBIs and scoring once.

Fallston is now 4-1 in the Chesapeake Division of the UCBAC and 5-2 for the year.
