Led by the 1-2 punch of Jon Cook and Alex Waldt, Archbishop Curley swept four of the top five spots in a MIAA A Conference tri-cross country meet, Tuesday at Herring Run Park, and defeated Mount St. Joseph, 21-35, and Archbishop Spalding, 20-35.
Cook won the race with a time of 17:15, and Waldt (17:25) edged out Spalding’s Erik Heolin (17:26) for second place. Jeremy Skarda (17:37) followed in fourth place for the Friars and teammate Erick Meyer (18:08) was fifth.
St. Joe took the next three spots and six of the following seven to defeat Spalding, 22-36. Alex Genuario (6th, 18:11) was the top Gael across the finish line.
