No. 12 Patterson stays in Baltimore City boys basketball title chase; Thomas and Burgess combine for 40 (VIDEO HERE!)


John Thomas had another big effort for Patterson High Friday. The senior guard scored 13 of his game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter as the 12th-ranked Clippers defeated Forest Park in a Baltimore City Division A boys basketball first-place battle on Kane Street.

John Thomas scored 23 points and Caleb Burgess added 17 as No. 12 Patterson High defeated Forest Park, 59-47, in a Baltimore City Division A Aboys basketball contest Friday evening.

Thomas, a senior guard, scored 13 points in the final quarter as the Clippers (14-1 overall, 5-0 Division A) rallied in the final three minutes to remain undefeated in Division II with 15th-ranked Edmondson. Allen Wise had 13 points for Forest Park (8-3, 4-1 Division A), and Chris Burrell finished with 10.

Patterson hosts Poly Tuesday in division play while Forest Park is at No. 15 Edmondson. 

The Red Storm host Patterson Feb. 15 with the winner likely securing a berth in the City title game at Morgan State University later this month.
