Defending Baltimore City champions City College took a step forward in its efforts to repeat as the league’s top team with a 2-1 victory over rival Western on Thursday.

Senior forward Rabiah Elisa scored a goal in each half and goalie Brionna Bea had four saves for the Knights, who improved to 4-1 overall this season. Their lone loss coming to archrival Poly, 1-0, on Sept. 13th.

“Well this was an important win because it still gives us a chance for the city title,” City coach Sedrick Smith. “We get another crack and Poly at our place in October.”

City rebounded from the loss to the Engineers with a 7-1 win over Patterson and a 9-0 decision against WEB Dubois.
