Senior guard Nick Faust scored 19 points as No. 1 City College defeated Masonville Cove, 80-40, in a Baltimore City non-divisional contest Tuesday. Senior guard Mike Cheatham added 15 points for the Knights (3-0), who led 39-22 at halftime.
It was the second straight double-digit victory for the two-time defending Class 2A state champs, who fell out of this week’s USA Today’s Super 25 national poll. City held off McDonogh School in its season debut last Wednesday.
Edwin Amos finished with 10 points for the Knights, who will play at unbeaten and No. 7 John Carroll Thursday evening. Saturday, City plays at No. 1 St. Frances Academy before hosting No. 3 Patterson Tuesday afternoon.
