With nine MIAA players on its 20 member roster, the Chelsea Bays U15 soccer team won its second consecutive US Youth Soccer National Championship, with a victory in Saturday’s title game in Overland, Kansas.

The Bays topped Albion SC of California, 2-1, in overtime, avenging a 2-0 loss suffered to Albion in the preliminary round, where the Bays went 2-1. Loyola’s Jeremy Degraffenreidt, one of five Dons on the team, scored twice in the tournament.

The other MIAA players on the team were Matt Sanchez of McDonogh, Callum Krach and J.P. O’Connor of Archbishop Curley, Michael Degraffenreidt, Tony Butta, Connor Hylton and Tyler Beach of Loyola, and Anthony Kim of Gilman.
