Defending MIAA C Conference basketball champion Chapelgate Christian continues to dominate its league following a 57-39 win over Beth Tfiloh Tuesday night.  It was the 20th overall win for the Yellowjackets and they improved to 11-0 in C Conference action.

Frick Frierson’s squad raced out to a 19-9 first quarter lead.  The host Warriors held Chapelgate (20-5) to just nine second quarter points but they were only able to shave two points off their deficit before going to the halftime break.

Nate Frierson paced the Chapelgate offense with 20 points and he handed out seven assists.  Several of those helpers went to Winfield Taylor, who dropped 16 points to go with 13 rebounds and four steals.  Chika Obi also scored in double figures, with 11 points.  Obi added six rebounds and three blocks.

Natan Weissman did his best to keep Beth Tfiloh in the contest, as he scored a team-high 14 points.  Josh Flax also added 11 points for the Warriors (11-8, 6-4).

Only a Friday night match-up, at home, against second place Indian Creek (8-3), stands between the Yellowjackets and an undefeated league slate.  Chapelgate has already locked up the top playoff seed.

At 6-4 in the league, Beth Tfiloh has guaranteed itself a playoff spot.  The Warriors will go in as a fourth seed, at worst, as they attempt to reach the title game for a second straight year.
