Eagles top Oakland Mills to stay within a game of first in Howard County


Trailing by five at the half, visiting Centennial held Oakland Mills to just six third quarter points as the Eagles rallied for a key 57-50 Howard County boys basketball victory, Friday.

Joey Sedlacko scored 22 points to lead Centennial (7-5, 6-2 Howard Co.) to keep the Eagles within a game of fist place Wilde Lake (7-1) in the County. Centennial is tied with Atholton for second, while Oakland Mills (10-4, 6-3 Howard Co.) slipped into fourth place.

Stafford Smith added 10 points for Centennial and the Eagles got points from six other players.

Dooley Riggs score a team-high 16 points for Oakland Mills and Daeshawn Eaton netted 12.
