Taylor Bourg had three goals, Caroline Baker had two and Danielle Entrot added another as Centennial’s girls soccer team had its biggest offensive outburst of the season on Tuesday in a 6-1 victory over Wilde Lake.

Centennial scored in the 7th minute to take a 1-0 lead on a goal by Entrot that was assisted by freshman Ruthie Lucas.  Two minutes later, Wilde Lake forward Gillian Swayer tied the score at 1-1 with a shot from a tight angle scoring just inside the far post.

The Eagles took the lead back for good in the 22nd minute on a goal by Baker off an assist from Tessa Seale.  Baker scored again in the 33rd minute taking advantage of a great effort by Lucas.  Lucas zig-zagged through three defenders before dishing off to Baker for the score.

Bourg closed out the first half scoring with a fast break goal assisted by Micki Mize.  Bourg scored two more goals later in the second half.

“We have taken a lot of shots this season and have had trouble putting the ball in the net,” said Centennial coach Steven Baxter.  “Tonight, we finally broke out.  We went into the game with a specific plan of attack and the team executed it very well, especially in the first half.  Once again, I am very proud of the effort this team gave throughout the entire game.”
