BRIEFLY: Zach is a varsity lacrosse captain and starting attackman during his junior and senior years at Mount St Joseph’s in Baltimore, MD. During his high school career, he has been recognized as “Top Gun” Points Leader of the JV lacrosse team his freshman year and was the leading point scorer for varsity lacrosse his junior Year. In addition to lacrosse, Zach was also captain of the JV/V2 ice hockey team his sophomore and junior year and a member of the MIAA championship-winning varsity ice hockey team his senior Year. Outside of St Joe’s, Zach is a member of the MD Roughriders Lacrosse Club (for 6 years), been nominated for the Roughriders Lacrosse National team in 2019, a member of the Baltimore Stars Ice Hockey Club, and was nominated for the John Bauman Award by ice hockey coaches (an award given to “the player who combines hustle, dedication, sacrifice and good sportsmanship to best represent the TEAM FIRST philosophy”) in April 2019. In addition to sports, Zach is an active
member in the community, volunteering for Special Olympics, Harlem Lacrosse, North Bend Elementary School, and Our Daily Bread. In July 2019, Zach held an internship with Harlem Lacrosse (a non-profit organization helping kids with school work and development in the sport of lacrosse). He also holds down several jobs, at the Timbers of Troy Golf Course, Howard County Parks and Rec. as a scorekeeper, and as a Certified USA Ice Hockey Official. Academically, Zach also excels, earning honor roll in 13 out of 14 quarters at St Joe’s, while also actively participating as a member of the Leadership and Business Clubs. In the fall, Zach will be continuing his academic and lacrosse excellence at the Florida Institute of Technology (FIT), in Melbourne, FL.
