The South Carroll Cavaliers wasted no time in picking up their first win of the 2010-2011 wrestling season, working five falls and winning six-straight matches in their win over Middletown, 49-18.
While Middletown did open the match with a Cox decision at 103 and a Roberts fall at 112, the team soon found itself on the wrong end of a 21-9 score as the Cavs won four-straight matches, three of them with bonus points.
Atwell’s forfeit started the winning streak at 119, but falls from Wampler (125) and Willingham (130) opened the door for the rest of the nights wins, as Plumley worked a decision at 135 for the large lead.
Two matches later, the Cavs were back on the path to their first dual meet victory, seeing wins from 145 to 215, with falls from Gaunt (160), Reiter (171) and Wright (215), a major decision by Stavish (152) and decisions from Peters (145) and Schmitz (189) before walking away with the win.
Middletown added two wins to that of Cox and Roberts, raising the arms of Wilkes (140) and Kerr (285) to end the dual meet.
