Led by Lindsay Torbeck and Brittany Winborne, Catholic High girls’ basketball team captured the title at the Annapolis Area Christian Holiday Tournament last week. The Erdman Avenue school defeated Indian Creek, 40-18, in the finals New Year’s Eve.

Winborne, a junior, was the tournament’s most valuable player while Torbeck, a senior, was selected to the all-tournament squad. The Cubs (6-3 overall) opened the tournament with a 57-42 over Salisbury Christian Dec. 29, followed by 57-28 decision over CHEN in the semifinal round.

The Cubs are back in action Wednesday at home against Baltimore Lutheran in an IAAM C Conference match.
