Steele saves seven to secure the shutout; Arundel tops Broadneck


In a showdown of Anne Arundel County boys soccer powers, No. 13 Meade went on the road and impressed with a 2-0 shutout victory over fourth-ranked Severna Park, Thursday evening.

The Mustangs (5-1 overall) are now the last remaining undefeated team in Anne Arundel County play as they improved to 3-0 in the league.

Goalkeeper Shane Steele registered severn saves to get the shutout. Chris Loring put the Mustangs on the board in the first half and Isaiah Guy added the second goal in the second half.

Erick Anariba and Caleb Marchany had assists for Meade which outshot the Falcons 11-7 and held a 4-2 advantage on corners.

Braden Mondor had nine saves for Severna Park.

Elsewhere in Anne Arundel, Arundel doubled-up Broadneck, 4-2.

Spencer Hanks led the way for the Wildcats with two goals and an assist. Aiden Koch and Jack Hartford also scored for Arundel and Evan Slaney stopped nine shots.

Ethan Romito and John Robillard scored for Broadneck and Kyle Waggoner had an assist.
