Friars go 7-0 and win seven weight classes

Winning six matches without a loss, Archbishop Curley captured the 17th annual Loch Raven Raider Duals, held on Friday and Saturday at Loch Raven.

The Friars were dominant, scoring 60 points in all six matches, including a 64-9 win over second-place Eastern Tech in the final round.

Winning their weight classes for Curley were Christian Kalb (113), Kennell Washington (126), Sam Yakim (145), Will Riley (152), Tobi Majekodunmi (170), Garrett Butt (195) and Mike Vargas (220), while Ray Smith (120), Ryan Becker (132) and Connor O’Ree (160) finished second.

Second place Eastern Tech, which went 6-1, got an individual title from Jakob Brinkman (138) and second place finishes from Krishna Jith (113), Ryan Wagner (126) and Perry Publico (195).

Host Loch Raven (3-4) got individual titles from Marquis Kemp (120) and Vincent Caldwell (160) and Pikesville (3-4) also won a pair of weight classes with Shane McGregor (106) and Elijah Edward (182).

The other two individual weight winners were Towson’s Sam Ganas (132) and Parkville’s Demetrius Daniels (285).
