For new Mount St. Joseph head football coach Blake Henry, the start of football practice has been a learning experice at both ends.

Henry is learning about his team, while the players learn his offensive and defensive systems and get used to their new coaching staff.

As can be expected, Henry says it is a process of give and take.

“We’re up and down. We’ve got a bunch of young guys out there learning a new offense and defense,” said Henry, who is undertaking his first head coaching assignement after several years as an assistant at Loyola.  “Some days have also been really good, really productive, and some days we’re just teaching these guys to work hard.  Overall we’re doing a good job.”

This week, Joe DiBlasi of VarsitySportsNetwork.com spoke with Henry about his squad’s progress thus far.  Here is that interview.
