Colin Gimblet from Calvert Hall College is the week four recipient of Extra Innings’ Baseball Player of the Week award. The sophomore is the second Cardinal to receive the honor so far this spring.

Gimblet earned a place in the storied program’s record book April 14. He cranked three home runs in the Cardinals’ 11-2 victory over Loyola Blakefield.

Gimblet joined teammate Matt Bosse (week one winner) as the only players to hit three home runs at Carlo Crispino Stadium on the campus of the Towson private school. Gimblet went 3 for 4 with 6 RBI and scored three runs.

“I’ve just been taking a lot of swings and practicing a lot over the past few days, and I’m seeing the ball well,” said Gimblet, a third basemen who went 5 for 7 last week with four homeruns and 7 RBI. “It’s an honor to play for Calvert Hall every day.”

The No. 2 Cardinals went a perfect 3-0 (defeated McDonogh, Loyola, and Mount St. Joseph) last week, extending their winning streak to five games. They currently stand first in the MIAA A Conference.
