No. 3 Calvert Hall brushed off last week’s loss to Georgetown Prep with a dominating defensive performance, on the road Friday night, as the Cardinals pounded Largo, 33-2, for a non-conference football victory in Prince Georges County.
The Cardinal defense, which has been outstanding all year, recorded four sacks, while Will Johnson, Stephen Kelly, Emmanuel Holder and Travon Barnes all intercepted passes. Both Holder and Barnes took their picks to the house for touchdowns.
Calvert Hall (8-1) also received rushing touchdowns from Brandon Neverdon and Jamaal Goodman, while quarterback Thomas Stuart tossed a touchdown pass to Adrian Amos.
In the second half, Stephen Kelly and Stephen Petr continued to pound the ball in the running game for Calvert Hall, as the Cardinals iced down the victory.
Next Friday night, at home, Calvert Hall will resume its quest of a MIAA A Conference title when it hosts McDonogh.
