No MIAA football team took a bigger leap forward in 2009 than Calvert Hall as the Cardinals contended for the A Conference late into the season and ended its long Thanksgiving Day losing streak to Loyola with a huge win in the Turkey Bowl.

The 2009 Cardinals featured a young nucleus of talented players, especially in the offensive backfield and linebacking corp. Those returning players have raised expectation for the 2010 as the Cardinals attempt to contend for their first ever MIAA A Conference football title.
