Calvert Hall made it three wins in a row in the MIAA A Conference baseball with a 10-1 win over Archbishop Curley in East Baltimore on Wednesday.
Alex Pastorius led off the game with another double (he had three two-baggers against Gilman on Tuesday), and slugger Matt Bosse doubled him home in the top of the first to give the Hall a 1-0 lead. Pastorius upped his average to .444.
Bosse had three homers in the win over Gilman, but the Friars kept him in the park on Wednesday.
The Cardinals sent nine men to the plated in the third inning when they scored six times. Shortstop Chris Burton had the big hit in the third with a grand slam homer off of Curley starter JD Caulkins, who took the loss.
Sophomore lefty Andrew Witczak threw six strong innings for coach Lou Eckerl to get the win.
Calvert Hall will host John Carroll in Friday in another key early season match-up.
