Mustangs rumble to a 79-45 victory; Kenwood tops Aberdeen, 58-50
The C. Milton Wright boys basketball team had no problem dispatching visiting Patapsco, Friday, as 13 different Mustangs scored in a 79-45 rout of Patapsco in a 3A North Region, Section II quarterfinal playoff.
Jack Van Syckle did a little bit of everything, scoring seven points, dishing out four assists, grabbing eight rebounds and blocking six shots.
Imran Husain and Eric Stiemke were the only two Mustangs in double-figures, with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Next, CMW will face Kenwood, which advanced with a 58-50 win over Aberdeen. The Bluebirds got 14 points each from Darius Foster and Pharaoh Walker, as well as 10 from Chandler Cuthrell in the win.
Kenwood, usually a team that racks of a ton of points from beyond the three point line, sank only three treys in this one, but the Bluebirds did collect 29 points at the free throw line.
The C. Milton Wright/Kenwood sectional semifinal will by played on Monday at CMW at 8:00 p.m.
