Tatnall School from Delaware was the big winner Saturday, claiming the title teams in the Elite division at the Bull Run cross country invitational at Hereford High.
Tatnall claimed the top three spots in the girls’ race, paving to the team title over runner-up and event host Hereford. The Bulls’ Megan Anderson was the top area finisher in fourth (20 minutes, six seconds) with Dulaney’s Isabel Griffith (20:09) fifth.
In the boys’ eltie race, Tatnall’s Alex Giacco placed first (16:22) followed by the area quartet of Vincent Ciattei (pictured left) from Perry Hall (16:35), Annapolis’ Harry Bullen (16:37), Hereford’s Jon Luckin (16:45) and Tyler Spears from Loyola Blakefield (16:47). Severna Park was runner-up to Tatnall in the team standings.
Centennial girls’ won the large school division girls’ team crown as Eagle Shreya Nalubola was runner-up (20:22). River Hill’s Christopher Heydic (third) was the top area performer in the boys’ race.
In the medium section, Nick Fransham from North Harford was second in the boys’ competition. Reservoir was runner-up to Montgomery County’s Albert Einstein.
Reservoir captured the girls’ medium school crown with Cindy Alms placing first (20:30). Gator teammates Karli Smiraglia (2nd; 21:21) and Katie Wilson (4th; 21:37) finished in top 5 along with North Harford (second in team standings) as Megan Tildey and Casey Welsh were third (21:29) and fifth (21:52), respectively.
In the small school race, McDonogh School claimed the boys’ team crown with Mikey Singer placing third (17:15). John Carroll placed third in the girls’ division.
