Junior Susannah Matthai exploded with a game-high 26 kills to lift the Bryn Mawr School volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-21, 21-25, 25-13 non-confernece victory at Hereford on Friday.

The Mawrtians snapped a two-game skid and improved to 6-3 overall.

Senior Rachael Franks tallied 13 kills for Bryn Mawr and also went 14-for-17 serving with four aces. Junior Eliza Steiner added a perfect 17-for-17 service night with 32 assists and three aces.

“This was a nice bounce back after struggling for the past week and a half,” Mawrtians coach Tim Dunbar said. “Our offense is finally beginning to click. We just need to tighten up a little bit more on defense.”

Bryn Mawr, which pulled out the win despite having a key player on a recruiting trip, takes on John Carroll (6-3 overall, 5-0 in the IAAM B Conference) on Monday.

The Bulls return to action Thursday at home against Western Tech.
