Park School took advantage of an inexperienced Pikesville squad, on Tuesday, flashing its trademark pressure defense, in claiming a 61-40 non-conference boys basketball victory over the visiting Panthers, who were playing their season opener.
Pikesville graduated 10 players from a team which went 20-4 last year and the Panthers are struggling to find offensive production.
Park started slowly as well and needed a 15-2 run late in the first half to establish a 29-18 halftime advantage. Pikesville rallied to within five in the third quarter, but Park closed strong once again to pull away for the 21-point win.
Daniil Lyaklo led three Bruins in double-fgiures as he scored a team-high 15 points. Seth Gelblum added 14 points for coach Josh Wolf and Michael Ginsburg finished with 10.
Pikesville’s Ethan Thompson led all scorers with 16 points and teammate Jared Kurlander added 12.
