Nicole Blackwell had a clutch two-run double as No. 5 Broadneck rallied in the seventh then hold on for a 5-4 victory in eight innings over 16th ranked Severna Park in an Anne Arundel County contest Friday evening.

Blackwell’s double in the seventh brought the two-time defending Class 4A state champs to a 4-4 tie. Playing under international tie-breaking rules (runner starts inning at second base), the Bruins pushed across the lead run in the eighth.

Adrienne Gebele had a RBI triple for Broadneck (6-2 overall, 5-2 Anne Arundel), and Courtney Long knocked in a run. Carly Moore had 2 RBI for Severna Park (6-3, 5-3 Anne Arundel), and Janie Thrift and Clare Hanratty drove in a run.

Broadneck hosts Old Mill in league action before competing at Cavalier Classic at Randazzo Park Saturday in Severn. The Falcons host No. 7 Franklin Thursday  before also playing in the Cavalier Classic next weekend.
