Boys’ Latin has proved it plans to be competitive this season in basketball with an impressive early season showing and the Lakers were at it again on Wednesday.  Boys’ Latin trailed St. Paul’s by just two entering the final quarter, but the visiting Crusaders had too much fire power down the stretch as they pulled away for a 60-46 MIAA B Conference victory.

It was a big evening for St. Paul’s Tanner Brooks, who poured in a game-high 21 points.  No other Crusader reached double figures, but Nigel Sydnor and Lamonte Wade led a balanced second tier with nine points each.

Wells Stanwick paced Boys’ Latin with 16 points and Jeremy Freeman added 11.  In addition, sophomore Mac Pons scored nine points.

St. Paul’s is now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the B Conference.  The Lakers are 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the league.
