Senior wideout continues record assault as No. 2 Bruins drop Meade

Broadneck wide receiver Ethon Williams caught two touchdown passes Friday evening in the No. 2 Bruins’ victory over Meade. The Boston College commit tied the state record for career touchdown receptions with 49.

Ethon Williams hauled in two touchdown passes, both from freshman quarterback Josh Ehrlich, and Andre Woods and T-nae’jah Watts each had scoring catches as second-ranked Broadneck High defeated Meade, 28-7, in an Anne Arundel County football contest Friday evening in Cape St. Claire.

Williams, who’s committed to Boston College, raised his Anne Arundel County-record receiving touchdown mark to 49, which also equals the state’s all-time mark, held by St. John’s Catholic Prep’s (then St. John’s Prospect Hall) Max Morris. Williams, who finished with seven catches for 98 yards Friday, is four catches shy of former Arundel standout RJ Harris’ county mark of 190.

In a rematch of last year’s Class 4A East Region semifinal, the Bruins (8-0 overall and Anne Arundel) extended their regular season win streak to 20. Broadneck can clinch at least a tie for a second straight title with a win at Glen Burnie this Friday.

Ehrlich finished 17 of 31 for 234 yards and four touchdowns, and Jason Carcamo rushed for 126 yards. Meade (2-6, 2-6 Anne Arundel) got a 75-yard touchdown pass from Kiani Freeman to Malik Jackson.
