Bruins enter at No. 21; Loyola returns

Two new area teams are in this week’s Maryland State Media Football Top 25.

Riding a two-game winning streak, Broadneck High is 25th. The Bruins are joined by Loyola Blakefield, coming off a dominating win over St. Vincent Pallotti. The Dons were No. 21 in the preseason, but lost to St. Mary’s in their season opener.

St. Frances Academy is again No. 1, and Archbishop Spalding maintains the No. 3 spot. Calvert Hall College is up a spot to 6th, while Mount St. Joseph (8th), Franklin (No. 12) and Milford Mill Academy (19th) hold their position from last week.

MIAA B Conference squads St. Mary’s and Concordia Prep, received eight and seven points, respectively. Atholton (four), Pallotti (three) and Dunbar (one) also received votes.
