Lakers cool down Glenelg Country, 55-40
A pair of teams riding four game winning streaks met in Ellicott City, Monday evening, for an MIAA A Conference basketball showdown and, behind three double-digit scorers, No. 17 Boys’ Latin picked up a 55-40 road victory over No. 9 Glenelg Country.
BL broke open a one-point game with an 11-2 run early in the third quarter and that separation was maintained to the finish. Lorenzo Donadio, who has emerged as one of the league’s top scoring threats, led the Lakers with 17 points and helped ignite the third quarter run with a three-pointer.
Riar Schell added 10 points and Kendall Walker netted 11, including nine in the fourth quarter to help the Lakers (8-6 overall, 5-2) close out the victory.
Glenelg Country (10-5 overall, 7-3) struggled all night to solve the Boys’ Latin defensive effort. The Dragons were led by 13 points from Jordan Brathwaite and 13 from Igor Yoka-Bratasz.
