Boys’ Latin football remained undefeated with its fifth victory in as many games, as it rolled to a 45-0 victory over St. Frances, on Friday afternoon.
Brandon Barnes led the way with 94 yards rushing on 11 carries and three touchdowns. Brandon Cherry added 71 yards and two scores on nine carries. The Lakers also received 58 yards on nine carries from Chris Rubino.
Defensively, Mike Turner, Jeff Chase, Geron Brooks, Ben Pridemore and Rick Schmidt all had interceptions. In addition, linebacker Joey Weidner had four tackles and forced a fumble.
BL will venture outside the MIAA B Conference for the first time, next Saturday, when it visits St. Anne’s Belfield (VA). The Lakers then will visit Archbishop Spalding on Oct. 15 in what will be a first place showdown.
