Calvert Hall senior Matt Bosse, a three-sport standout for Cardinals, has verbally committed to play college baseball at the University of Maryland after he graduates from the Hall next spring.
Bosse holds the distinction of playing on three consecutive Conference Championship teams during his illustrious career.
Bosse was member of Lou Eckerl’s MIAA A Conference baseball champs in the spring of 2009, he anchored the MIAA A Conference championship volleyball team, coached by Anthony Camarrata last fall, and he was a member of coach John Bauersfeld’s Baltimore Catholic League championship basketball team last winter.
Bosse played baseball this summer for the Rookies, who finished third in the prestigious Cobb Tournament in Marietta, Georgia in July.
“It’s pretty much been a dream of mine to play baseball in the ACC ever since I was a little kid,” said Bosse, who stated he has been a fan of Maryland athletics ever since Calvert alum Juan Dixon helped lead the Terps men’s basketball team to a national championship.
“I am relieved to know that the choice as to where I’ll play college ball is behind me. Now I can consecrate on helping us defend our volleyball and basketball championships, and then concentrate on winning the A Conference baseball championship in the spring.”
Gilman defeated the Cardinals at Ripken Stadium for the A Conference championship last May 23, breaking Calvert Hall’s five year hold on the crown.
