It’s Charm City’s turn to visit the nation’s Capital this weekend as the respective cities renewed their annual high school basketball battle.

Friday evening at H.D. Woodson, No. 4 Digital Harbor girls take on Dunbar from the District, followed by No. 6 City College playing host Woodson, ranked No. 8 in the D.C. area by the Washington Post, and 23rd nationally by USA Today. Woodson is defending champ in the DCIAA.

Coolidge High is the host for Saturday’s boys’ contests. At noon, No. 5 Digital Harbor takes on Anacostia (D.C.), followed by defending Baltimore City league champ and No. 8 Edmondson playing defending DCIAA champ Ballou at 2:15 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m. Dunbar plays Eastern (D.C.), ranked 16th in the D.C. a followed by No. 1 City College, ranked No. 21 nationally by USA Today, taking on host Coolidge.

D.C.’s No. 1 squad Riverdale Baptist, ranked No. 16 by USA Today, will be part of a huge field at the 5th annual Breezy Bishop Showcase at the Poly-Western complex. The Crusaders from Prince George’s County will match up with VSN’s No. 1 Archbishop Spalding in the finale of day one Friday at 9:30 p.m. at Poly. No. 12 Poly matches up with perennial Class 3A power Largo from Prince George’s County while Western takes another Prince George’s County’s squad, National Christian Academy.

Saturday’s schedule is highlighted by a Top 5 local showdown featuring No. 2 Seton Keough playing No. 4 Digital Harbor. Defending Class 2A state champ and No. 20 Fallston plays Forest Park (VA).

Spalding returns Sunday afternoon for a match with New York’s Bishop Ford. Defending IAAM A champ and No. 7 St. Frances Academy takes on Nazareth from New York.
