Outlook: Two teams looking to end their state semifinal drought collide at Harris Stadium for the Class 1A South Region title. No. 19 Havre de Grace disposed of Cambridge-South Dorchester, 41-21, in last Friday’s semifinal round as junior quarterback Darin Washington had another big game.

Washington, who’ll likely be the area’s top senior quarterback prospect next season, completed 11 of 12 attempts for 270 yards and three touchdowns, including a 63-yard strike to Mike Kelly. Kelly rushed for 191 yards as the Warriors (9-2), who only lost to No. 2 Calvert Hall College and No. 3 North Harford, rolled up 35 first half points.

Bohemia Manor (10-1) spoiled Patterson Mill’s playoff debut with a 21-7 decision in the other semifinal in Chesapeake City. Kyle Thompson scored two touchdowns and Tyler Horn added a one-yard score.

Thompson combined with Madison Neddo for 161 yards rushing as the Eagles’ defense limited Patterson Mill’s Cameron Wann, the top passer in the UCBAC, to just 84 yards. It was also the Cecil County school’s first playoff victory since winning the 2002 1A state title.

Havre de Grace last reached the state semifinals in 2006.
