The Kenwood girls soccer team got off to a flying start in the Eastside Challenge, on Saturday, with a 3-0 win over Mount Carmel.
Sophomore Allison Tarr sparked the Bluebirds with a goal in the game’s 10th minute. Megan Schoen continued to pile on the pressure with a goal just before halftime and sophomore Brianna Gilliam put the game out of reach with a third goal.
Gilliam also tallied an assist in the match. Captain Angie Abel was stellar in the midfield with two assists and goalkeeper Katlynn Red finished the game with six saves and her second shutout of the season.
Kenwood 3, Mount Carmel 0
