Sophomore forward Camille Calhoun scored a game-high 16 points and No. 1 Archbishop Spalding pulled away from No. 13 St. Vincent Pallotti, 53-31, on Wednesday night.

The top ranked Cavaliers improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the IAAM A Conference, while the host Panthers fell to 2-2 and 1-1 respectively.

Junior Shaquilla Curtis added 11 points for Spalding and Shanae Swinson contributed nine.

Point guard Mariah Hankton led Pallotti with seven points, Adrian Flowers had six and Chizzy Ekedigwe, Tiffany Padgett and Jordyn Crockett had four each.

After a quarter, the score was tied at 11-11 and the Cavaliers held a 26-21 halftime advantage.  But the third quarter was the difference.

Spalding outscored the Panthers 15-2 in the frame.  Back-to-back buckets scored by Swinson pushed the Cavaliers’ advantage to 39-23 with 1:47 left in the quarter.
